Tyler Palmer is a graphic and UI/UX designer. She grew up in Chicago and developed a passion for art and illustration in high school which has led her to pursue graphic design. Driven by creativity, she takes pride in providing the best mixture of impactful and thoughtful design. As a graphic designer, her goals include seeking inclusivity and designing meaningful experiences.

Tyler has always been interested in learning languages, particularly while watching shows in different languages like telenovelas, anime, k-dramas, and more. She has observed people learning languages through shows, which sparked the idea of creating an app specifically designed to take advantage of simultaneous language learning while watching shows. This is how the concept of Filmingo was born. With Filmingo, users can click on subtitles while watching a show to learn specific words, making the watching experience interactive and educational. The app also features an AI character chat, allowing users to engage with characters from the show and learn the language in an immersive way. Tyler conducted extensive research to incorporate unique elements that set her app and design apart from competitors.

Filmingo also includes a community tab, enabling users to interact with each other, share moments from shared shows, and ask questions. Additionally, the app seamlessly syncs with users’ streaming services, integrating their favorite shows into Filmingo. To add more fun, the app offers a practice tab that generates quizzes based on the user’s watched content and more!Through this project, Tyler had the opportunity to delve deeper into her passion for educational design and creativity.
