My name is Grace Adduci (b. 2001 St Charles, IL) and I’m a photography major pursing a BFA at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Using both photography and video, I incorporate my extensive music background throughout my visual arts. My work displays abjection, as I depict my personal experiences to a maximum degree. For my thesis project, I captured the essence of my music background by presenting my photography on custom vinyl record sleeves. My photo work that is seen on the vinyl’s spans over the duration of the four years I’ve been at UIUC. The coupling of the photography on the vinyl’s, mixed with the sensory of the video/audio, is meant to be an evocative emotional experience for the audience, as music has always been this experience for me.
