I have a strong belief for art to be another form of storytelling. Using a combination of comic pages and concept art I have built a window into the world of “Dream of me.”
This comic pitch in progress is created with the intended demographic of teenagers in the west. The work consists of my repetitive themes surrounding human connection, queerness, and girlhood that may resonate with readers of most ages.
Dream of Me follows the story of teenage girl Carol who refuses to navigate stressors in her life in favor of her lucid dreams. In contrast, our secondary character Inaya, who while in similar life situations, steps into the dreams of others as she is incapable of having dreams of her own.
Through Carol’s dreams, the two form a mutually benefitting friendship as they combat bullying, school, and anticipatory grief over a sick parent.. Becoming capable of dreaming a new future together.
