Madeline Pierce’s work revolves around capturing the human spirit, what makes each of us who we are. Whether that involves freezing important moments in time or memorializing loved ones, her goal is to evoke the emotions that make us human. In her thesis project, First Loves: Transitional Objects, Madeline explores the objects that we carried through childhood and into adulthood. Those blankets, stuffed animals, and other toys which have been worn over the years and which wear the scars of being repaired over and over again. Her photography documents these objects that we hold on to and the memories that stick with us for the rest of our lives.
