Sharon Chun is a designer exploring creative approaches to visual communication through storytelling. She believes that genuine stories can connect people, drive conversation and resonate across communities. With that in mind, she decided to amplify the voices in the AAPI community. Her project, titled “Dear Me,” is a concept art animation that follows a young character’s journey into an imaginary world where she learns to embrace herself, her culture and her world. This heartwarming journey takes the audience from a colorless, dark reality into a world full of endless possibilities, colorful realms, and wonderful childhood memories. The artist invites the audience to come along in this journey as she navigates her emotions, racial trauma, and the unknown to ultimately discover her inner strength.
