This project is about the extremes of escapism, which is something we are all too familiar with given the times we live in. “Null” explores the mind of a child who uses video games to escape their stressful and unfortunate reality. As the player continues the game, they slowly begin to discover the true nature of the child’s reality, and may need to decide whether or not they feel the child should return to it again. The goal of this project is to allow the player to recognize their own tendencies of escapism, and the kinds of effects it can have on the realities they are escaping from.
