My paintings are forms of social criticism. I build worlds which reflect human nature and the shifting conditions of the real. Through satirical observations of the human experience, the imagery balances on a tightrope, alternately reinforcing and re-examining the status quo. My narratives of lost innocence are tainted by the corrupt forces of materialism and consumerism and their connections to wasted time, loneliness, and guilt. Ultimately, I view this work not as an escape, but as productive space for considering what it means to live on this planet.
