I’m an artist dealing in mythology, using wonder as an entry point into necessary conversations. My art is a continuation of the shift in visual representation of black culture from caricatures to superheroes and beyond. Each piece I do is creating a new tradition, a path to what could be. My work is focused on navigating the traumas oppressed communities have grown numb to- from social injustices to broken patterns within our own families, through comics. Taking stories that are often neglected and immersing us in them using oversized panels and the colorful costumes of modern icons.
